WELCOME TO THE TENNESSEE RUNNING TOUR 2024-2025

This is the 46th year of the Running Tour, the oldest running state parks series in the US. It consists of 20 road races with distances varying from 5K to a half marathon. All races are held on Saturdays from October to March at 11 AM local time in 19 different State Parks covering the three grand divisions of Tennessee, (East, Middle and West).

These events are sponsored by local running clubs, which are responsible for registration, timing, and results. Each State Park provides facilities, race security, and traffic control. Walkers are welcome (no faster than a 13 minute pace), are allowed an early start at 10 AM, and are treated as a runner in the results. Any walker finishing faster than a 13 minute per mile pace, will have the finishing time adjusted to reflect a 13 minute per mile pace. If you run with your dog, you must start with the walkers.

The total number of finishers last season was 2,238 or 112 per race.  The last race will be at Fall Creek Falls State Park on March 1, 2025.

We have a Grand Prix points system, where accumulated points determine the new male and female Running Tour Champion in each of seven age categories: youth (19 and under), open (20-39), masters (40-49), grand masters (50-59), senior grand masters (60-69), veterans (70-79), and eighty plus (80+). Winner at each race gets 30 points, second gets 28, third 26, and so on. The total Grand Prix points reflect your points from your 10 best races. You will remain in the age category of your first race. Everyone who participates in 5 races or more will receive a special award at the Grand Prix Awards Banquet. In addition, those who run 10 or more races will receive an extra award.
